The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation in conjunction with the administration of Krasnoyarsk Krai and the administration of the City of Krasnoyarsk, and in partnership with the Sibir International Exhibition and Business Centre and » Krasnoyarsk Yarmarka Exhibition Company» are holding the fourth annual book fair in Krasnoyarsk. This is a long-term project positioning Krasnoyarsk as a centre of book culture and is aimed at uniting publishers and book distributors fr om Russia’s central regions with the towns and cities of Siberia and the Far East.
Fair objectives:
• to promote books and reading as cultural entertainment;
• to present the best Russian publishing houses and to stimulate a system of distributing intellectual books in Siberia;
• to integrate the fragmented cultural community of the Siberian and Far East Regions;
• to expand readership and raise the status of the written word.
The Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair offers an innovatory approach to the advocacy of reading: presenting the existence of books in the modern multimedia cultural field, analysing the evolution and transformation of books in its competitive struggle with new forms in the arts and data carriers.
