     Boris Ivanovich Tishchenko (1939, Leningrad — 2010 St-Petersburg) is a prominent Russian composer, honoured by the Title Merited Master of Arts of Russia. His works were awarded by numerous prizes, including the State Prize of Russian Federation and the Prize of the Mayor of the St Petersburg. Among his teachers were such great masters of music composition as G. Ustvolskaya, V. Salmanov, O. Yevlakhov and D. Shostakovich, to whom many of his works were dedicated.
     Tishchenko’s creativity scope embraces virtually all the possible existing genres — from a cappella tune to multisymphonic cycles. . The composer was greatly influenced by the music of L. Beethoven, F. Schubert, G. Mahler, M. I. Glinka, A. S. Dargomyzhsky, M. P. Musorgsky, P. I. Tchaikovski.
     His music heritage include 8 symphonies, 4 program symphonies, ballets: Jaroslavna, Twelve, Buzzy-Wuzzy Busy Fly, operas Cock-the-Roach, Stolen Sun.
   Also he is an author of Requiem on the verses by Anna Akhmatova, 9 instrumental Concertos, vocal cycles, 4 solo sonatas for strings, 10 piano sonatas and cinema and theater music.

     The Compozitor Publishing House • Saint-Petersburg is proud of being the first who announced this genius to the world as his first publisher and hopefully will be the first that would carry out the awesome task of publishing his Complete works edition in 33 volumes.
